Vickie and Art Semler have proven to be exemplary Realtors, extremely knowledgeable, helpful, true professionals – rising head and shoulders above Realtors with whom I have worked in the past.
The Semler’s helped me find my current house and sell my previous one, both in Scottsdale. I have worked with five other Realtors during corporate moves in Texas, Illinois, and Arizona, and working with Vickie and Art has proven to be the best experience yet. They explained every step of the process, always outlining all of my options, and constantly doing extra legwork that saved me time and money. For example, when negotiating items that came up during the inspection of my new house, Art and Vickie went to local home improvement stores to match and price hardwood flooring so that I would be reasonably compensated for repairs that needed to be done at the house that I was buying, making certain that I was credited the correct amount at closing to cover the work. Art also made repeat trips to price pool gates and hardware when it came time to negotiate terms after the inspection of the house that I sold. If they weren’t physically doing leg work, they were working the phones getting estimates from roofers, pest exterminators, and air conditioning technicians, just to name a few, to ensure that I would not have problems after I took possession of my new home.
Long before we were at the inspection stage, they provided a comprehensive marketing plan to sell my home. They don’t just provide lip service, but follow through with every detail, from hosting open houses, providing flyers, advertising in the newspaper, and putting my house on the tour of realtors. When it comes to handling the myriad of papers required, they are perfectionists, looking out for my best interests every step of the way, always remaining unruffled, which helped to reduce stress during the negotiating process of the selling and purchasing phases. Once we had a signed contract, they stayed on top of the lender to ensure that the closing occurred as scheduled. Vickie even came to the high school where I teach to provide moral support when I met the title agent to close on the house that I sold.
Furthermore, I can’t stress enough how they excelled at keeping the lines of communication open. They updated me at least once a week while actively looking for a buyer for my home. They are always quick to return phone calls or e-mails. They monitored activity on the computerized lock box and contacted the agents who brought potential buyers through my house for feedback.
Finally, their calm demeanor and positive attitude was reassuring through the arduous selling process in today’s changing Valley market. It made a world of difference to have Realtors representing me whom I knew I could trust to do an outstanding job.
